CHANCE Workshop "SCWEC Brand Building for Handicrafts and Agro-products-Regional Cooperation through Exchange of Information and Skills"

A workshop funded by InWent on "SCWEC Brand Building for Handicrafts and Agro-products-Regional Cooperation through Exchange of Information and Skills" brought together representatives of businesswomen’s associations from the SAAR Countries at Hotel de la’Annapurna, Kathmandu, Nepal. It focused on the Challenges for Brand Building of SCWEC handicrafts and agro-products, provided information on best practices with the aim to develop an Action Plan for Brand Building at the end. More than 50 participants attended this workshop.

It was an opportunity for the SCWEC delegates to meet Rt.Honorable President of Nepal Dr. Ram Baran Yadav and Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal. Pramila Acharya Rijal, the then Vice Chairperson of SAARC Chamber of Women Entrepreneur Council emphasized on the importance of a permanent infrastructure to set up a SAARC Trading House. This exemplified, how women entrepreneurship associations can raise awareness and gain attention on political level for their concerns through targeted public relations work and lobbying.
